Description

The International Space University provides graduate-level training to the future leaders of the emerging global space community at its Central Campus in Strasbourg, France, and at locations around the world. In its two-month Summer Session and one-year Masters program, ISU offers its students a unique Core Curriculum covering all disciplines related to space programs and enterprises – space science, space engineering, systems engineering, space policy and law, business and management, and space and society. Both programs also involve an intense student research Team Project providing international graduate students and young space professionals the opportunity to solve complex problems by working together in an intercultural environment.

Since its founding in 1987, ISU has graduated more than 2500 students from 96 countries. Together with hundreds of ISU faculty and lecturers from around the world, ISU alumni comprise an extremely effective network of space professionals and leaders that actively facilitates individual career growth, professional activities and international space cooperation.

The ISU Master of Science (M.Sc.) programs are designed for students looking for the competitive edge that will help them obtain a career in the space sector, professionals interested in making a career move into or within the space sector, and researchers wishing to broaden their knowledge or make the move from academic life into the space industry.

For this ISU offers two post-graduate Master of Science (M. Sc.) degrees:
- M.Sc. in Space Studies (MSS)
- M.Sc. in Space Management (MSM)

During their studies students will:
• Broaden their knowledge of space activities and issues,
• Develop the necessary skills to work effectively with colleagues from a diverse range of disciplines and cultures,
• Interact with professionals working in the heart of the industry,
• Apply acquired knowledge and skills through hands-on experiences.

Both Masters programs share the same basic structure; this allows students to begin with the same core curriculum before entering one of two specialized streams. The MSS stream focuses on scientific and technical aspects while the MSM focuses on policy and management aspects. However, interdisciplinary interaction between the two classes is maintained through common team activities and assignments.

The SSP's 9-week interdisciplinary curriculum emphasizes international cooperation and provides students with varied perspectives on the world’s space activities—perspectives normally reserved for those with years of diverse professional experience. The program includes a wide variety of activities, including lectures by renowned experts, hands-on activities and projects, team work exercises and professional visits, and each year it evolves to better meet the needs of its students and their employers.

Throughout the course, students are encouraged to contribute their own ideas, knowledge and enthusia
