This programme is taught in English and students may be located in Lille, Paris or Sophia-Antipolis.
The PhD in Finance & Accounting is a very selective, four-year, full-time programme. It forms part of the activities of the FAIRR (Finance and Accounting Insights on Risk and Regulation) Research Centre.
It is designed to provide doctoral students with a solid education in areas needed to carry out cutting-edge research. Students take advanced courses designed to help them to do theoretical and empirical research in corporate finance. The programme further offers seminars, reading programmes and research workshops. All the courses and seminars are held in English. Our seminar programme is very rich and will enable you to meet top researchers from around the world.

Admission to the programme is based on a previously completed master degree (or equivalent). Applicants should be fully operational in written and spoken English.

Le programme
In their first year (two semesters) students will attend 5 lectures (150 hours):
- Econometric programming and access to financial and accounting databases
- Advanced methods in econometric analysis
- Auction theory
- Theory of corporate finance
- Research seminar
Students will also be required to write a research proposal, which will be the starting point of their PhD thesis. Admission to the second year
To enter the second year, students must have obtained:
- At least a B in each first-year course
- A successful defence of the research proposal before the scientific committee
Students must also:
- Attend the Finance Lecture Seminars and Finance Research Seminars
- Attend PhD workshops
- Follow a reading programme during the second year
