Participants learn the fundamentals of the core techniques of Filmmaking -screenwriting, cinematography, editing- whilst making a short film. The worshop combines theoretical presentations with hands on practical exercices.Participants work on their own project and leave with their short on DVD. Pré-requis: Basic English.

Three Week Filmmaking Workshop
These intensive three week filmmaking workshops are designed to give students a thorough introduction to the craft of filmmaking through hands on experience and constant feedback. The structure of the course consists of learning topics in the field within the subjects of cinematography, editing, directing and screenwriting.
Exercises, small lectures and a final “production period” form the pedagology of the course wherein every student produces a final five minute film in this very intensive last week of production. Students are also given the rare opportunity to work with actors from EICAR acting department wherein a valuable interaction is gained and an insight in to the actor’s training.

MODULE 1:
- Brainstorm a subject; notions of drama
- Draft a synopsis, concept of sequence and scenography
MODULE 2:
- Introduction to film analysis
- Initial script and shoot breakdown
MODULE 3:
- Final script and shoot breakdown - Ctn’d
- Introduction to the job of assistant director. Production shedule, choice of scenery
MODULE 4:
- Introduction to shooting technics
- Introduction to audition and casting
- Actor directing exercises
MODULE 5:
- Shootings of the casting on set with the actors. Introduction to selection of rushes by screenings of takes
MODULE 6:
- Rehearsals and indoor shooting (2 sets)
MODULE 7:
- Outdoor shooting 1st screenings of dailies. Retakes on set or outdoors
- 2nd screenings of dailies
MODULE 8:
- Editing: rough cut
- Editing: fine cut
MODULE 9:
- Editing: final cut
- Sound editing : choice of musics
- Introduction to mixing and execution
MODULE 10:
- Screening, evaluation, feedback
