Application to certificate programs is exclusively open to HEC students enrolled in the Grande Ecole and one year MSc/MS programs as well as HEC MBA or PhD programs. The selection of applicants will be made in their first semester of the curriculum at HEC Paris.

The program consists of four blocks:
- Core courses
- Elective courses
- Seminars and special days
- Business project.

The certificate is composed of 4 compulsory courses (1 to 4) and a set of 4 electives (5 to 8):

- Digital & Communication – Gachoucha KRETZ, Lecturer at HEC Paris – 9h
- Retail & Merchandising in Luxury Businesses – lectures, business game, visits – 12h (+ 6h)
- Fashion Culture & Management – Pascal MONFORT, Fashion Consultant and LESAGE – 12h
- Luxury hospitality business – lectures, visits – 12h
Participants are offered guided luxury store visits within the course “Retail & Merchandising in Luxury Businesses”, palace visit within the “Luxury hospitality business” course and workshop visit within the “Fashion Culture & Management” course.

Special Days
Special days are co-organized with other HEC Certificates.
In 2014, two special days have been organized with the Social Business and the Leadership Certificates.
The Business Project
During the whole period of the certificate, participants are required to work in groups on a business project to enhance “hands-on” experience with a real life project. Participants receive a project brief during the certificate introduction week. At the end of the Certificate, they present their analysis and recommendations in front of a jury of experts (both academics and practitioners).
The 2014 Business Project of the HEC Luxury Certificate was proposed by GUCCI and more specifically by the Shoe Business Unit: “La Scarpa di GUCCI”.
