Objectifs: A student with a B.S degree in EE can work in many areas, including power utilities, aerospace, defense, telecommunications, computers, government, consumer electronics, instrumentation, or they may pursue graduate education. Many students who have graduated from SLU-Missouri get their start in industry through Electrical Engineering's co-op and internship programs with corporations. Destinataires: Of the various fields of engineering, Electrical Engineering (EE) is the largest, and encompasses all areas of research, design, development and operation of electrical and electronic components and systems. Students interested in EE tend to be strong in math, physics, and computer science. They are often those who have been 'tinkering' with hardware and software at home through their formative years. Students often have strong interest in applying design principles and make creative improvement.

Admission requirements are based on a combination of secondary school grades, college admission test scores, co-curricular activities and attempted college course work, as well as other indicators of the applicant’s ability and character. Spanish and international students normally enroll in our intensive English as a Second Language (ESL) program during their first year of study.

Le programme

The Electrical Engineering academic curriculum is completely integrated with that of the Saint Louis campus in Missouri. The students can transfer freely between the two campuses over the course of their undergraduate degree program. A student who enrolls in a bachelor's degree Electrical Engineering program in Madrid will normally spend the first two years in Madrid and then transfer directly to the home campus in Missouri to finish the final two years of the degree program. However, students can transfer the academic credits they earn while studying in Madrid to other U.S. universities should they so wish.

The Electrical Engineering field is one of the most diverse and exciting fields of engineering. It has been instrumental in shaping the technologically rich society that we currently enjoy, by developing many of the technological revolutions of our time, including cellular phones, HDTV, DVD technology, Internet technologies, high-speed computers, medical diagnostics and imagining devices, and much more.

The field of electrical includes all aspects of the research design, manufacturing, and marketing of electronically oriented products. Recent research has led to advancements in high-density storage capability, improved cell phone technology, affordable flat panel LCD displays, high-speed computers, and much more, which are transforming our lives in many ways. Email has changed the way businesses operate, cellular phones have changes the way young people manage their social lives. These revolutionary, life-changing technologies would not have been possible without electrical and computer engineers. As a graduate of our electrical engineering program, you can be a part of this revolution!

The Major
As a student, you will pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering both in Madrid and in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of Parks College.
In addition to a solid foundation in the basic sciences and mathematics, you will be introduced to a broad spectrum of courses covering all major areas of this discipline. Included are courses in digital systems, microprocessors, electronics, communication systems, control systems, power systems, and circuits. These are followed by in-depth courses in specialized areas such advanced digital design, digital signal processing, integrated circuit design, computer networks, and others. These courses provide practical and theoretical knowledge that is directly applicable to the industries they relate to.
The Electrical Engineering program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (EAC of ABET).

·Majors have the option of joining the Institute for Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) student branch, a professional society recognized around the world ·Electrical Engineering majors make periodic field trips to local industries to learn more about manufacturing, research, and development in a non-academic environment

Electrical Engineering students are eligible for all of the undergraduate scholarships at Saint Louis University Madrid Campus. Upon transferring to the home campus, students become eligible for additional scholarships that are made available by the professional societies based in the St. Louis metropolitan area

·The EE program is accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET), the only such agency which accredits engineering programs in the U.S.
