Objectifs: The Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering prepares the graduate for some general career paths: BME graduates continue their education in graduate schools, working toward the M.Sc. or Ph.D degrees in Biomedical Engineering or related fields. BME graduates attend medical or dental schools, where biomedical engineers have been particularly successful. etc. Destinataires: Those students whose education will build on the sciences ndash;particularly chemistry, physics, and mathematics ndash;with general concepts applicable to all engineering and computer science. It is the discipline where students link engineering with the biomedical sciences and medical technology. This unique combination and the integration of various components leads to sub-specialties such as biomechanics, biomaterials, biomedical instrumentation, medical imaging, biosensors, biomedical signal analysis, etc.

Special attributes of this program
- A major component of the undergraduate curriculum is a three-semester sequence of molecular physiology. This is a new and unique approach to presenting the basic principles of the biological sciences to students in engineering. The classroom and laboratory experiences address principles and techniques at the level of cells, molecules and organs, with an overall emphasis on the human.
- A final hands-on experience in the senior year is called the senior project. This year-long project may be explored as an individual, but more likely the projects involve groups of students from biomedical engineering, other engineering or computer science departments, biological or medical departments, or engineers from corporations.
- The Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET), the agency for accreditation of engineering curricula in the U.S.
- Core courses in the humanities, cultural diversity, ethics, theological foundations, and social sciences complement the engineering curriculum.
- A blend of science, engineering, and non-technical courses provides a well rounded education in Biomedical Engineering and prepares students for serving humanity as engineers.
