JEMARO is the first joint Japan-Europe programme offering high-level academic and industrial training across the whole span of robotics (Mathematical modelling, Control engineering, Computer engineering, Mechanical design) with the technological specialisation of the associated industrial partners. All JEMARO course unit are taught in English, and they are already mutually recognized by all the consortium partners within Local Master Tracks.
To reach the objectives, the JEMARO consortium has been jointly designed, and is implemented and fully supported, by 4 major Higher Education Institutions in Japan and Europe awarding master’s degrees:
- École Centrale de Nantes (France)
- Keio University (Japan)
- University of Genoa (Italy)
- Warsaw University of Technology (Poland)
The student mobility path will allow a first year spread across the European partners and the second year in Japan where all students will remain together helping them to form a close-knit group.
Students who graduate from the JEMARO master’s course will obtain two master's degrees, one from a European country and the other from Japan (Keio University). The degrees are officially recognised and give full access to PhD study programmes.

À propos de cette formation
The Japan-Europe Master on Advanced Robotics (JEMARO) is a 2-year integrated programme between all the members of the consortium and its goal is to allow students to better understand different perspectives in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence (related to both academia and industry) across Europe and Japan. This will be achieved by developing common strategies for knowledge sharing and for enforcing the quality of education in Advanced Robotics.
Students must have: a first university degree with the equivalent of 180 ECTS credits in the European system, after at least three years studies, at the level of Bachelor of Science, in a field related to robotics. Applicants must have a good level in Mathematics and be fluent in English - written and spoken. An applicant whose native language is not English is required to pass a recognised international test of English (TEOFL, IELTS, TOEIC or Cambridge Advanced English Test). Applicants who carried out their studies in English may provide an official letter from their university stating that

Le programme
First year programme in Europe (60 ECTS credits)
The aim of the first year is to provide the students a solid interdisciplinary background across the main areas of robotics: perception (computer vision, sensors, signal processing), cognition (computer science, artificial intelligence, human computer interaction), action (kinematics, dynamics, control), and mathematical foundation (modeling, simulation, optimization).
Second year programme in Japan (6 Research Credits and 14 Lecture Credits)
For the whole second year of the master’s programme, all students will move to Keio University in Japan. The programme is split between courses related to control, mechatronics, robotics, human interface, signal processing and biological information, and research activities conducted under the joint supervision of professors from EU institutions and from Keio. Students will devote time to the Research Track to conduct their own research and to earn Research Credits.
For the second year, the Research Track will end with the Master's Thesis Defense. Local partner companies can also be involved in the courses and in the thesis supervision.Informations complémentaires
