Description

This program combines study of the general principles of complex engineering system construction with participation in satellite, drone and robotic systems-building projects. The program is also aimed to provide the fundamental skills in data analysis for the development of complex system applications fostering the synergies and interdependencies between engineering, industry and space science (satellite imagery and communications, satellite navigation, remote sensing and in-situ data of space weather). We teach students to find creative solutions to the biggest challenges of space and robotics industries.

Précisions importantes

Quels sont les objectifs de la formation?: The MSc program is 2 years long: the first year is to strengthen your theoretical background, and the second year is to focus on research. Students have the freedom to choose courses and extracurricular activities to shape their individual trajectory, acquire soft skills, and gain entrepreneurial skills to prepare for job placement.
Our graduates will possess fundamental knowledge in the field of system design and practical skills in the creation of complex systems. They will be able to:
explain a holistic view of space missions and systems
conduct new observations and measurements from space
tо create new services in navigation, communications, earth observation and space environment
to design, build and test your own satellite (CubeSat)
conceive, design, implement and operate space systems, with an emphasis on space sensors, payloads, and onboard systems
build a career or create a startup in field of space and robotics industry

Cette formation est-elle faite pour moi?: Our graduates shape their own futures by choosing from a variety of career opportunities in industry, science and business:
Landing specialist positions in the Russian and international Space and Robotics industry, including Skolkovo resident companies and startups.
Landing PhD positions and continuing research at leading Russian and international research bodies.
Starting a business on their own or through the Skolkovo innovation ecosystem with its extensive pool of experts, partners, consultants and investors.

Les points forts: I decided to pursue my masters in Space Systems at Skoltech when I got to know how this newly established institute is creating positive ripples in the international scientific community. The experienced faculty and advanced research facilities available in Skoltech are very appealing for every engineering student. The Skoltech-MIT collaboration was also a deciding factor. The environment at Skoltech is extremely friendly and motivating. The dynamic team of faculty and staff makes it easier for international students to adjust to the life in Moscow. True to its vision, Skoltech strives on research, innovation and entrepreneurship. The students are encouraged to be proactive, keen on taking initiatives and making an impact in the society. The close link with industry is beneficial for students to experience industrial immersion and get a job after graduation. Skoltech space courses are well designed that allow practical applications of theoretical knowledge: we have made robots, drones and satellite payloads from scratch as part of these courses. New ideas are always welcome and most of the time turned into reality at Skoltech!
