The Certificate in Innovation, Design Thinking & Intrapreneurship is a three-week course designed for managers of technology-based and also service companies willing to take leadership in innovation and initiate change.
The modular structure of the program is designed so that the modules can be followed independently or in a block, allowing participants to fully benefit from the complete training if they attend the 3 weeks.

PROGRAM
Each intensive module is delivered over 5 days on our Grenoble campus and grants 2US or 4ECTS credit hours.
MODULE 1 : INNOVATION MANAGEMENT
This module is devoted to the analysis of key issues regarding innovation in a globalized world. Impact on business strategy will be discussed in order to illustrate how managers can exert their leadership and attain higher goals. The concepts of open and reverse innovations represent an important part of the module as they can multiply the impact of innovation activities in the company. Also inter-organizational networks and their governance systems will be analyzed. The module will conclude with a session to address implementation and execution strategies, offering practical insights which cover the tactics to transform a good manager into an innovative leader.
On completion of this course, participants will:
Learn how innovation supports competitiveness in a global environment;
Understand how innovation is related to business strategy and how to manage it effectively;
Master the necessary key skills to drive innovation and change within the company;
Assess both the potential and any pitfalls of open innovation and inter-firm collaboration.
MODULE 2 : INTRAPRENEURSHIP
On a global scale a common awareness is growing: there is a different way to manage and develop business. A way that defines new strategies for growing in the long term and with a global approach.
The recent great recession combined with the ongoing transformation of the markets, have created an urgent need for companies to search for new sources of competitive advantage, to re-design their business models, and to find different ways for pursuing new business opportunities. Even more the evolution of consumer behavior recognizes that there are new and better ways to develop products, to serve markets and to build productive enterprises.
Within this new approach managers have to see themselves as change agents. Managers have to embrace an entrepreneurial approach in order to radically innovate in the way companies develop new business ideas and exploit economic value by leveraging on the right assets and capabilities.
The objectives of this module are to foster participants “intrapreneurial culture” and transfer to them methodological and operational tools for corporate entrepreneurial strategies.
On completion of this course, participants will:
Understand global trends and the new paradigm of intrapreneurship
Learn how to inspire people with original idea and engage them in the creation and design of innovative business models
Identify new managerial practices characterized by a systemic approach and an entrepreneurial mindset
Gain the skills to effectively leverage on the right processes, organizational structure, people and technologies.
MODULE 3 : DESIGN THINKING FOR MANAGERS
Ideally, managers, designers and others should drive innovation together by putting design excellence in forefront of attention, in order to satisfy customers' needs and the company's strategic goals. However, due to differences in mindset and objectives, co-operation is not always smooth and can be a challenge.
This module is dedicated to managers who seek an understanding of creative approaches and want to develop an open mindset to work with creative people; gain confidence in their creativity and intuition; and foster innovative approaches in companies.
On completion of this course, participants will:
Realize the importance of empathy for the user in the design research and development stages;
Understand the steps of the design process;
Learn how methods traditionally used by designers might be used to solve business issues in a creative manner;
Experience an active and hands-on design thinking course.
